吳振平先生,字淡山,一九O七年出生於浙江省杭州市,一九七九年二月逝世於上海。吳先生為古琴家、音樂理論家,善金石、承西泠印泥家傳絕方。曾任上海文藝出版社音樂編輯;一九五六年上海音樂學院民樂系成立後,為第一任古琴教師;一九五七至一九六六年間,任上海“今虞琴社”社長之職。吳先生不僅是一位琴藝高超的琴家,更是一位具有深厚傳統文化和精湛琴學理論學養的學者。一九四九年後,成為中國第一位為電影(越劇《紅樓夢》)配古琴音樂的琴家。其琴風高古淡遠,為人謙和儒雅。先後發掘整理了琴曲《碣石調‧幽蘭》、《廣陵散》、《搔首問天》、《屈原問渡》、《流水》、《蘇門長嘯》等十餘首,又根據毛澤東詩詞而創作琴歌《沁園春‧雪》,曾發表《試談古琴曲的標題與形象》等論文。更不顧年邁體弱,在沒有錄音的條件下,不遺餘力地為姚丙炎記錄其打譜成果《琴曲鉤沉》。
WU Zhen-ping was born in 1907 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province and he passed away in February 1979 in Shanghai. He was a musician, a qin artist and preserved a secret formula to make red ink paste. He has been the music editor of the Shanghai Art Publishing Company. In 1956, He became the first man teaching the qin in the Shanghai Conservatory. From 1957 to 1966, he was appointed the chairman of the Jinyu Qin Musicians Association. In 1949, he has been the first person to play the qin in the films. His transcriptions on the qin included Orchid in Seclusion, in Jie Shi Diao, Guang Ling Verse, QU Yuan Sends Regards to the Sky, Getting Advice of Future, Flowing Water, Whistling Sound at Sumen, etc. He also published many articles on qin music.
