漢樂箏家饒寧新，一九四三年出生於廣東大埔一音樂世家，少時即從其父——漢樂演奏家饒從舉習樂。一九五九年，考入廣州音樂專科學校附中，師從潮州箏家蘇文賢及漢樂箏家羅九香。一九六五年，大學畢業後，在四川音樂學院任教，後轉職到廣東音樂曲藝團。之後，長期在廣州星海音樂學院任教，曾培養出一批古箏專業演奏和教學人才，不少學生在國內外比賽中獲獎。此外，他還經常在京、穗、港、澳、台等地院校講學或交流演出。他曾參加香港政府舉辦的《南北四大箏派匯演》、《中國名音樂家系列音樂會首場——饒寧新古箏獨奏會》、《中港星古箏名家音樂會》、《中國南北古箏名家音樂會》；在北京音樂廳舉辦的《締觀有情》音樂會；在台北舉行的傳統藝術季《箏樂名家之夜‧箏韻》；二○○二年，應邀參加港、穗、杭《古箏流派掌門人》音樂會；同年，到上海參加第四屆國際藝術節《古箏名家音樂會》。現為星海音樂學院教授，中國音協古箏學會副會長、北京古箏研究會理事等。
RAO Ning-xin
RAO Ning-xin was born in 1943 in Dabu, Guangdong province. He had learned the performing of many traditional instruments from his father RAO Cong-ju since he was young. In 1959, he was admitted to the affiliated middle school of Guangzhou Conservatory learning under SU Wen-xian of the Chaozhou school and LUO Jiu-xiang of the Kejia school. In 1965, he graduated from the university of the conservatory and took the teaching position in Sichuan Conservatory for eight years, later was transferred to the Guangdong Music and Narrative Singing Troupe for six years. Afterwards, he was appointed to the Xinghai Conservatory (formerly the Guangzhou Conservatory) and taught there uptil now. In addition, he was frequently invited by the conservatories and music institutes of Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan for lectures and performances. Presently, he is the professor of the Xinghai Conservatory, vice-chairman of the Chinese Zheng Society and the board director of the Beijing Zheng Research Association.
